The name Thema has Ghanaian origins and translates to Queen. Is it a title that she will live up to?
The Vehement Vigilante has taken it upon herself to protect Lincolnwood, a small, crime-ridden community on the Southside of Chicago. It’s a place long overlooked and overrun by violence. She shows no mercy to those who threaten her community.
No warnings.
No compromises.
No Mercy.
Her bone-breaking brand of justice is quietly supported by the residents of Lincolnwood. Thema is thrust onto the national stage, when the crime lord, Bulldog returns to the Lincolnwood. The place where he got his start. Bulldog’s return and Thema’s approach to crime will bring attention to the Southside of Chicago. The attention brings scrutiny…scrutiny brings pressure…pressure reveals truths that can’t longer be ignored.
Thema learns that even righteous intentions carry a price.

Beautiful Thema will be ready for print in 2026 and expands the New Horizon Comics Universe.

H.W. is a native son of Chicago and the founder of New Horizon Comics. He's the Creator and Writer for Spirit the Woman of Hope and Beautiful Thema.
Since founding New Horizon Comics, H.W. has developed relationships in the indie comic publishing realm. He's a part of the Historic Epiphany Engine Graphic Novel and the 2025 Summer Swimsuit Special, Panels in Paradise.
H.W. is an Air Force retiree and a proud graduate of Chicago State University.
Giorgia Rosati, Artist
Giorgia, an Italian artist, brings her imaginative art style to the book. She's no stranger to comics.
