The mission at New Horizon Comics is to harness the power of storytelling. We aim to deliver dynamic comic titles that tell amazing stories and present captivating characters that will ignite imaginations across all ages.
The Founder
The Southside of Chicago is my home.
A summer in Memphis introduced me to the world
of comic books, and I immersed myself in stories
where amazing characters came together for
justice, and beings considered to be different
fought to protect a world that feared and hated
them. The love for those monthly floppies turned
into drawing, then fan-fiction, followed by creating
my own stories on one panel pages, and more
writing. It never dawned on me that I was world
building.
This publishing journey started in the spring of 2005, at Chicago State University. After finding inspiration from the words of Nikki Giovanni, Spirit the Woman of Hope was born. The road from 2005 to 2022 was long. I crossed paths with frustration, questions, self-doubt, and heartache, on the journey, but always continued on. Why? The love I had to write and create.
During that journey I found a career in law enforcement,
retired from the Air Force, underwent two major heart surgeries, and juggled this thing we call life. It was after the first surgery when I came to believe that I’m here to tell a story, and I fully intend on telling it.
